If visiting Burgundy, do it over a weekend!

Because the Saturday market in Beaune is a bustling and renowned food and clothes market, and has been around since the early 13th century. It is the major event of the week, and it is as much for people to meet and greet as it is to buy.

Fresh, including old-variety  vegetables and fruits, Burgundian and Jura cheeses, herbs, fresh eggs, jams, charcuterie, honey and organic meat.

The real reason to go to the Beaune Saturday Market is of course (do not tell) that it puts you smack in the middle of Burgundy, with some of the greatest wineyards in the world surrounding you, and restaurants, caveaus, and shops offering the best wine the world  has to offer.  Hard to say no to.
