It was with some doubt I decided to order a glass of wine to go with my burger at the Chili’s Too at Newark Liberty Airport. For one, wine pairing with hamburger is not easy, and secondly, Chili’s Too ain’t no Michelin-type restaurant. Anyways, I ordered the Mirassou Pinot Noir 2008. It arrived in a small carafe, and a glass that whilst it was no Riedel, was more than you would expect from a joint like this! The wine revealed berries and plum on the nose, perhaps a hint of un-ripe gooseberries. A soft wine with great freshness. Not a great wine, but good enough that I will consider ordering wine with my burger also next time at an airport.
